ok so it’s a descendants au, there is an extra villain kid, who is the daughter of winifred sanderson, she is called fred. Fred and Evie are secretly dating and nobody knows about it, they keep it casual and don’t call it dating though. Evie sneaks into the window of the cottage bedroom, as she does many nights, and she breaks up with fred, because they both know it’s more than casual and it’s hurting them both, and evie has to find a prince and a boy to be with to make her mom happy and have the life she wants, so fred can’t give her that. Evie tells her the relationship was a mistake and leaves. Both girls then kind of repress into liking boys, with both making eachother jealous at school. evie’s friends (mal jay carlos) don’t like fred and they make comments on how cold and weird fred has been lately, and mal who is evie’s best friends makes comments on how she’s different lately.
Then there is a time skip of a few months, with the start of the movie coming into play. the 5 are chosen to go to auradon and their parents want them to complete the mission. evie fred and mal all share a dorm room which causes tension, with fred and evie constantly bickering. they fight a lot of mal gets annoyed that they’re not focusing on their mission to get the wand. they keep fighting all the time. after the time skip, fred has become comfortable with her sexuality and doesn’t force herself with boys anymore, however she doesn’t tell anyone this yet, while evie is still forcing herself to be boy obsessed, swooning over chad and doug because they can give her the life she thinks she wants.
the movie plot goes on, and when lonnie and jane are in the room getting their hair done, Nia, rapunzel daughter, also comes, and asks fred if she likes girls, which fred says yes to and nia asks her on a date. mal is surprised that fred is gay and didn’t tell them, and evie pretends to be surprised even though she clearly knows. mal is surpised because fred used to date lots of boys but fred explains it was due to repressing. evie makes snide comments about fred being gay but not homophobic. after mal leaves for a minute, fred and evie are left in the room. evie is jealous of fred and nias date but pretend she’s not, and evie still pretends that she’s not gay and their old relationship was a mistake, but really she loves fred and wants to be with her, but she feels like she has to date boys to be normal, they argue a bit, evie saying she just wants to be normal and have a normal life with a man like she’s supposed to. fred says that being gay is normal but evie disagrees, hurting fred with her words. mal comes in and fred storms out to sleep somewhere else because being in the room with evie makes her sick. mal asks what happened and why evie is being like this but evie refuses to say and just cries, mal lets her cry and comforts her and doesn’t push, mal js worried because she’s never seen evie upset like this.
a little later evie is back to pretending she’s fine, and saying that it doesn’t matter and it was nothing to mal when she asks what happened earlier. then mal and evie are having a meeting about the mission they are doing, with jay and carlos, as well as fred because she is in on the mission too. it starts of extremely tense. carlos and jay don’t really know what’s going on, mal is just worried because evie is pretending she’s perfectly fine, fred is silent and not talking clearly hurt still, and evie is just pretending she’s fine and happy. mal is mad that their mission isn’t doing well, evie is acting like her normal self, but mal knows she’s just putting up a facade. starts with jay coming into the meeting, happy he got on the football team, but it’s quickly dampened by the mood of the room. overall the mission is not going well because they aren’t working together well as a team because of the arguing, so they have to agree to get along. fred is hesitant and clearly hurt, but she coldly agrees, adding as long as she doesn’t have to work with evie alone, which confuses the others but evie is silently glad she doesn’t have to work alone either. at the door is prince ben, mal and ben talk briefly in the background. while this happens evie and fred bicker about the coronation. when mal finishes talking to ben she shuts the door on him. and she mentions that someone needs to become bens girlfriend for the mission, using a love spell. she suggests evie, as evie is always saying she wants a prince to be in love with, but evie goes white and looks horrified by this, as she secretly doesn’t want that. evie doesn’t know what to do, she feels pressured to do it because they’re right that’s all she’s ever said she wants. but she doesn’t want it and having to be with a guy makes her feel sick. fred tries to save her, knowing how she doesn’t actually like boys and doesn’t actually want a prince, but the others insist. she has a panic attack. fred has to step in to help, the others are confused at first because fred and evie have always hated eachother and they don’t know they know eachother better than anyone, but fred helps. they question how fred knew how to help when evie and her hate eachother, which fred reveals she also gets attacks sometimes. they question evie on what happened and why she panicked over the mission love spell, and she begins to panic again slightly so they drop it, and she goes out to get some air, where mal follows her. when mal finds her she’s crying and freaking out, mal questions why she doesn’t want to do the love spell since she’s always wanted a prince and this is her chance, she basically breaks down sobbing to mal and confesses that she’s a lesbian, doesn’t want a prince, and was in love with fred in the past but broke up but she still loves her and she regrets it all, mal comforts her and says that she can do the love spell on ben instead of evie, then they can go back into the other room with fred and the boys and say they’ll do the spell with mal instead. the boys is a bit confused on why evie isn’t doing it but they don’t push due to the earlier panic attack. fred just looks at evie and sees she’s been crying, which the boys don’t notice because they don’t know her as well as fred, and hopes she’s okay.
the next day, fred is getting ready for her date with nia. mal evie and fred are in their bedroom as she gets ready and asks if she looks okay. evie is obviously jealous and mal knows it, then nia comes to pick fred up but fred is in the bathroom during it so evie answers the door and is jealous and a bit mean until fred comes to leave with nia. at the football game, nia and fred have small talk, but fred won’t stop talking about evie, whether it’s making comments about her or relating things back to her, and during the game nia sees that fred doesn’t stop looking at evie. nia and evie walk back to the room after the game, and nia is a bit bummed, but she says it’s okay and clearly fred is preoccupied, fred apologises and they agree to just be friends, they hug at the door as evie and mal watch. mal asks how the date went, and fred says ok, but they’re just going to stay friends, glancing at evie, who is relieved.
the next day. mal is going on a date with ben and evie is helping her with makeup, whilst fred is watching them and talking. then ben comes to pick mal up. leaving evie and fred alone in the room. there is tension but evie nervously tells fred she told mal about their past and that she’s gay, fred is surprised. they talk everything out and then rekindle their relationship. mal finds out their back together again in a later scene after her date, they’re in the bed and have the door locked, mal gets back from her date and is confused why the door is locked. they quickly try to get ready and dressed before mal gets the door open but mal is fast at lock picking, so she catches them. she finds it amusing and asks them to keep it pg13 while she’s in the room, but she’s happy for them. the next day, mal evie jay carlos and fred are in class. evie and fred are acting like close friends, which confuses jay and carlos since they thought they hated eachother. evie and fred end up being all lovey dovey and carlos and jay realise what’s going on go up to evie and fred and ask if they’re together, and then evie and fred can tell them about the past.
then the rest of the movie will go on with them together and happy, but there is the looming danger of returning to the isle of the lost, because they know they can’t be together properly there. they’re sad they have to do the mission, but they don’t talk about it until the coronation when they’re agreeing to be good.
