Blue’s Clues: The Case of the Missing Maracas
Logline: Blue loses her favorite maracas, and Steve and the audience must use their detective skills to find them before the Fiesta party!
Characters:
- Steve: Energetic, playful host.
- Blue: Animated blue puppy who communicates nonverbally.
- Mailbox: Mailbox who delivers clues.
- Magenta: Blue’s playful purple puppy friend (cameo)
Scene 1:
INT. BLUE’S HOUSE – DAY
Steve and Blue are happily playing in Blue’s colourful playroom. Blue is shaking a pair of bright yellow maracas, making playful sounds.
STEVE: (Singing) “Shake those maracas, Blue! We’re having a Fiesta party later, and you’ll be the star!”
Blue drops the maracas, then looks around with a worried expression. She paws at the floor where the maracas were, then looks at Steve with big, sad eyes.
STEVE: Oh no, Blue! Where are your maracas? It looks like we have a mystery to solve! Let’s find those maracas before the party! (To the audience) Can you help us?
Scene 2:
INT. BLUE’S HOUSE – KITCHEN – DAY
Steve and Blue search the kitchen. Blue sniffs under the table, behind the fridge. Steve checks the cupboards.
STEVE: Hmm, not here. Maybe we should check the clues! Let’s see what’s in the mailbox!
The Mailbox makes a playful “ding!” sound. Steve opens it. Inside is a picture of a paw print in the mud near the back door.
STEVE: (Points to the picture) Look, Blue! A paw print! It looks like someone tracked mud all the way into the house! That’s a clue! Where else do you think we should look?
Scene 3:
EXT. BLUE’S BACKYARD – DAY
Steve and Blue follow the muddy paw prints outside into the backyard. The prints lead to a small sandbox.
STEVE: Look, Blue! The paw prints lead to the sandbox! Do you think the maracas might be buried in the sand?
Blue excitedly starts digging in the sand. Steve joins in. They uncover… a small, bright red ball.
STEVE: Oh, it’s not the maracas, Blue. But look! Another clue! (He points to a small, yellow note attached to the ball) It looks like a message! (He reads aloud) “Look where the sun shines bright!”
Scene 4:
INT. BLUE’S HOUSE – LIVING ROOM – DAY
Steve and Blue follow the new clue. They enter the living room, which is bathed in sunlight streaming through a large window. Near the window, under a comfy armchair, are the yellow maracas!
STEVE: We found them! We found Blue’s maracas! (He picks them up) Yay! It was all thanks to our great detective skills! We followed the clues, and we solved the mystery!
Blue jumps with joy, shaking her maracas happily. Magenta pops her head in, waving hello.
Scene 5:
INT. BLUE’S HOUSE – PLAYROOM – DAY (LATER)
The Fiesta party is in full swing. Steve, Blue, and Magenta are dancing and having fun with their maracas.
STEVE: (To the audience) Wasn’t that a fun mystery? Remember, when you’re looking for something, always follow the clues! And remember to use your thinking skills!
Blue shakes her maracas one last time, and the episode ends.
