Maddy Koopa Bowser Junior’s twin sister seems cold but is very emotional, but she hides it. She is smart, has a pet female Chain Chomp, can breathe fire, knows some magic using a paintbrush like her brother, obedient to Bowser, loves finding loopholes in agreements, loves her brother, stayed away from fighting The Mario bros. until after The Mario + Rabbid thing where she revealed as a cold enemy testing her robotic inventions on them, and loves sweets. One day her brother and her capture Luigi Mario’s little brother and they hang out with him and have fun
The flickering candlelight cast long shadows across the Koopa King’s dungeon, illuminating Maddy Koopa’s sharp, angular features. Her normally stoic expression softened only slightly as she watched her twin brother, Bowser Jr., wrestle a giggling Luigi. Maddy, despite her icy exterior, possessed a surprising warmth reserved for those few she deemed worthy. This included her pet Chain Chomp, a fluffy, surprisingly gentle female named Chompy, who currently snored softly at Maddy’s feet.
Maddy’s intelligence was formidable. While Bowser Jr. relied on brute force and chaotic magic, Maddy preferred subtlety. Her paintbrush, imbued with the same magical properties as her brother’s, allowed her to manipulate reality with calculated precision. It was this precision, and her penchant for finding loopholes in contracts and agreements (a skill honed from years of observing her father’s dealings), that had made her a valuable asset to Bowser’s army – albeit a largely unseen one.
Unlike her brother, Maddy hadn’t actively participated in the endless battles against the Mario Bros. Her focus had been elsewhere, on her robotics. The Mario + Rabbids conflict had been her unveiling. She’d used it as a testing ground for her creations, her coldly calculated demeanor masking the satisfaction she derived from successfully pitting her inventions against those pesky plumbers.
Tonight, however, was different. Luigi’s younger brother, the surprisingly resilient little Mario, had been captured alongside Luigi – a stroke of luck, or perhaps a carefully orchestrated plan by Maddy herself, leveraging one of Bowser Jr’s impulsive schemes. The boy, surprisingly fearless despite the situation, was currently engaged in a game of hide-and-seek with Bowser Jr., the dungeon echoing with their boisterous laughter.
Maddy, perched on a crate, watched them with a flicker of something akin to amusement in her usually emotionless eyes. She offered Mario a delicately painted sugar cookie, a miniature masterpiece of frosting and edible glitter. The boy accepted with a wide grin, a stark contrast to the tense battles Maddy had witnessed in her simulations.
“He’s… resilient,” Maddy commented to Chompy, stroking the Chain Chomp’s soft fur. The statement was more to herself than her pet.
Bowser Jr., panting from his game of hide-and-seek, slumped beside his sister, a sugar plum stuck to his cheek. “He’s alright, sis! Way better than those stuffy Rabbids.”
A small smile, almost imperceptible, played on Maddy’s lips. “Indeed,” she replied, her voice cool but laced with a hint of genuine warmth. The fire in her eyes, usually cold and calculating, held a different spark tonight – a flicker of genuine affection for her brother and, perhaps surprisingly, a softer spot for the two surprisingly fun little Mario brothers she could never truly hate.
Later, as the brothers and Chompy slept soundly, Maddy sat alone, sketching in her notebook. The drawings weren’t of weapons or robots, but playful scenes of the three of them playing together. A single tear traced a path through the carefully applied makeup, instantly wiped away. Some emotions, Maddy knew, were best left hidden beneath a carefully constructed façade of icy indifference. But tonight, a small crack had formed in her carefully crafted ice wall. And she found, much to her own surprise, that it wasn’t entirely unpleasant.
