The hero Batman (male, 35 years old) is researching more about the mercenary (female, 19 years old) who recently appeared in Gotham, called “Striker”, and how she was able to defeat the villain Bane so easily and hand him over to the police (on behalf of Gotham’s understaffed police force). Following a clue, Batman is looking for the mercenary Deathstroke (male, 55 years old), who explains that he was the one who trained the female mercenary. Deathstroke found her as a frightened little girl in a destroyed war zone and took her in because she reminded him of his war-torn past when he was still a young boy full of fear. Deathstroke trained her until she could stand on her own two feet and one day she was able to go her own way. When Batman showed Deathstroke a recent Interpol photo of her, Deathstroke confirmed her identity but noticed that she looked well developed for her age in the photo.
Note: Batman & Deathstroke are not enemies but also not friends. The two have a professional, neutral, rather professional relationship with each other and cooperate when necessary.
Finally, Deathstroke told Batman that he should just ask her himself. After all, she is a professional mercenary with international accreditation whose services are even used by the CIA, KGB and MI5 and many others. Like every mercenary, it is just a matter of price.
Finally, Deathstroke laughingly pointed out (Deathstroke knows Batman’s paranoia) that she would definitely not work with villains like the Joker, she wasn’t that stupid.
Whereup Striker & Amanda Waller (superior of the suicide squad) entered the room and Striker said: “Working with the Joker? Certainly not! The asshole even kills innocent children, I defeated Bane to free the children that Bane had kidnapped on the Joker’s behalf.
Whereup Amanda Waller said that she wants to hire Deathstroke & Striker and that Amanda will need Batman’s help because Darkseid and his troops are planning to use Gotham City as a battlefield for his next campaign of conquest.
Everyone recognized the danger and set out to face Darkseid.
“Sie ist keine Gefahr für Gotham, Batman”, sagte Deathstroke, seine Stimme ruhig und voller Gelassenheit. “Sie ist ein Produkt meiner eigenen Vergangenheit.” Er deutete auf das Interpol-Foto, das Batman ihm vorlegte, ein Bild einer jungen Frau mit eisernen Augen und einer Aura von unbezwingbarer Stärke. “Ich fand sie, ein kleines, verängstigtes Mädchen, inmitten eines Schlachtfelds, das an meine eigene, verlorene Jugend erinnerte. Ich nahm sie auf und brachte ihr bei, sich zu verteidigen. Sie ist stark, kompetent und handelt nach ihren eigenen Regeln.”
Batman sah das Foto lange an. Die junge Frau, Striker genannt, strahlte eine unheimliche Ruhe aus, aber er konnte eine gewisse rohe Entschlossenheit in ihren Augen erkennen. “Und Sie glauben, sie würde für Gotham arbeiten?” fragte er. “Mit dem Joker?”
Deathstroke stieß ein leises Lachen aus. “Der Joker? Sie ist nicht dumm, Batman. Sie ist eine professionelle Söldnerin, international akkreditiert. Sie wird für jeden arbeiten, der ihr den richtigen Preis bietet. Aber sie würde niemals mit jemanden wie dem Joker zusammenarbeiten. Ihre Moral ist strenger, als man denkt.”
Just in diesem Moment öffnete sich die Tür und Striker betrat den Raum, gefolgt von einer Frau mit einem kalten Blick, Amanda Waller. “Working with the Joker? Certainly not!” Striker’s Stimme war selbstsicher und kalt. “The asshole even kills innocent children. I defeated Bane to free the children that Bane had kidnapped on the Joker’s behalf.”
Amanda Waller trat ein Schritt näher. “Deathstroke, Striker, ich habe eine Aufgabe für euch.” Ihr Blick traf sich mit dem von Batman. “Darkseid und seine Truppen planen, Gotham als Schlachtfeld für seine nächste Eroberung zu nutzen. Wir brauchen eure Hilfe, Batman. Dies ist eine Bedrohung für die ganze Welt.”
Ein kalter Schauer lief Batman den Rücken herunter. Darkseid. Ein Name, der Angst und Verzweiflung in den Herzen selbst der tapfersten Krieger hervorrief. Die Situation war ernst, und er wusste, dass er keine andere Wahl hatte, als mit den Söldnern zu kooperieren. Gemeinsam mussten sie sich dieser neuen Bedrohung stellen, die über Gotham drohte. Die Bedrohung, die über die gesamte Welt drohte.
