COLE (20s), battered and bruised, sits slumped against the cold, damp wall of a dungeon. His arm is grotesquely swollen and puffy, hanging limply at his side. He moans, his eyes rolling back in his head.
COLE (muttering)

He starts to convulse, his face contorted in pain.
MAJOR JOE MASON (50s), a grizzled veteran soldier, watches him with a worried frown. He reaches out, gently touching Cole’s arm.
MAJOR JOE MASON
Cole? Cole, can you hear me?
Cole doesn’t respond, his eyes locked on something only he can see.
MAJOR JOE MASON (to himself)

INT. MARÍA MONTOYA FIORÉ CASTLE – NIGHT
The opulent castle buzzes with activity. Princess MARÍA MONTOYA FIORÉ (18), a striking woman with fiery red hair and a regal bearing, paces nervously in the grand hall. Her mother, QUEEN ISABEL (50s), tries to comfort her.
QUEEN ISABEL
María, he’ll be fine. James and Major Mason are the best in the business.
MARÍA MONTOYA FIORÉ
But Mother, he’s been gone for hours! What if General Kane…
QUEEN ISABEL

Just then, the castle doors burst open and JAMES (20s), Cole’s best friend and fellow Power Ranger, bursts in, carrying Cole in his arms. He looks exhausted but relieved.

MARÍA MONTOYA FIORÉ

She rushes to his side, her eyes filled with worry. Cole’s eyes are closed, and he’s muttering incoherently.
QUEEN ISABEL
Take him to the infirmary. Quickly!
INT. INFIRMARY – NIGHT
Cole is laid on a soft bed, his arm propped up on a special pillow. He moans in his sleep, his face contorted with pain. Queen Isabel touches his swollen arm gently.
QUEEN ISABEL
It’s a bad break, but we’ll fix it.
María Montoya Fioré sits beside Cole, her hand resting on his forehead. She watches him with concern, her heart aching for him.
MARÍA MONTOYA FIORÉ

QUEEN ISABEL

MARÍA MONTOYA FIORÉ
(tears welling up)
I just want him to be okay.
Queen Isabel smiles softly.

He will be. Now, let him rest.
Queen Isabel and María Montoya Fioré carefully wrap Cole’s arm in an ace bandage. They sit by his bedside, watching him sleep.
INT. INFIRMARY – MORNING
Cole stirs, opening his eyes slowly. He winces in pain, his head throbbing.
COLE
(muttering)

He sees María Montoya Fioré sitting beside him, her face filled with concern. She smiles softly at him.
MARÍA MONTOYA FIORÉ
You’re awake. How are you feeling?
COLE
(groaning)
Like a werewolf had a party in my head last night.
He tries to sit up, but winces in pain.
MARÍA MONTOYA FIORÉ
Easy, Cole. You’re still recovering.
COLE
What happened?
MARÍA MONTOYA FIORÉ
You were injured during the escape. You fought bravely, but General Kane…
COLE
(interrupting)
He’s not going to get away with this. We’ll stop him.
MARÍA MONTOYA FIORÉ

COLE
Where’s James?
MARÍA MONTOYA FIORÉ
He’s right outside. He’s been waiting for you to wake up.
James bursts into the room, his face beaming.
JAMES
Hey, buddy! You’re finally awake.
COLE
(weakly)

JAMES
You gave us quite a scare.
COLE
(smiling)
Sorry about that. I guess I’m not as tough as I thought.
JAMES
Nonsense. You’re a true hero.
MARÍA MONTOYA FIORÉ
We’re all heroes here, Cole. We’re a team.
COLE
(nodding)
Yeah, a team.
Cole looks around the room, his eyes falling on the special bathroom with running hot water. He can’t quite place it, but it feels vaguely familiar.
COLE
Hey, that’s…
MARÍA MONTOYA FIORÉ
(softly)
Come on, Cole. I’ll take you there.
She helps him out of bed and gently guides him to the bathroom, her hand resting on his shoulder.
