3 brothers and 2 sisters finding there way to a relationship with Jesus after being turned away from the church by their father who is a preacher. Each child found themselves rebelling against there father and a life of addiction, jail, porn, sex, parties and sports only to lose it all and find redemption in Christ.

Lost & Found

Logline: Five siblings, estranged from God and each other by their preacher father’s rigid faith, find their way back to grace through individual journeys of heartbreak, addiction, and redemption.

Characters:

  • ELIJAH (50s): The stern, judgmental preacher father.
  • SAMUEL (35s): The eldest brother, driven, ambitious, wrestling with alcohol addiction.
  • DANIEL (30s): The middle brother, a former star athlete, now grappling with gambling addiction and depression.
  • NATHAN (28s): The youngest brother, entangled in a web of pornography and isolation.
  • SARAH (32s): The eldest sister, consumed by a cycle of destructive relationships and self-harm.
  • REBECCA (25s): The youngest sister, struggling with bulimia and a desperate need for acceptance.

Scene 1:

INT. CHURCH – NIGHT

Elijah delivers a fiery sermon, his voice booming through the hushed sanctuary. The congregation hangs on his every word, except for five empty pews in the back. We see fleeting images of Samuel, Daniel, Sarah, Nathan, and Rebecca, each in their own dark space, alone.

Scene 2:

MONTAGE

Rapid cuts showcasing the siblings’ separate struggles:

  • SAMUEL: Losing a lucrative job due to drunken behaviour.
  • DANIEL: Racking up gambling debts, his family home being foreclosed.
  • NATHAN: Alone in his apartment, eyes glued to a computer screen, filled with shame and despair.
  • SARAH: A violent argument with a boyfriend, leading to a hospital visit.
  • REBECCA: Secretly purging after a family meal, her body frail and weakened.

Scene 3:

INT. SAM’S APARTMENT – NIGHT

Samuel sits alone, an empty bottle of whiskey beside him. His face is etched with pain and regret. He picks up a worn, leather-bound Bible – his father’s. He flips through the pages, stopping at Psalm 23. Tears well in his eyes.

Scene 4:

INT. REHAB CENTER – DAY

Rebecca, frail but with a flicker of hope in her eyes, participates in a group therapy session. She hesitantly shares her story, finding unexpected support from the other women.

Scene 5:

INT. JAIL VISITING ROOM – DAY

Daniel, gaunt and defeated, receives a visit from Nathan. For the first time in years, they connect, sharing their pain and vulnerability. Nathan confesses his struggles with pornography.

Scene 6:

INT. COFFEE SHOP – DAY

Sarah, seeking help for her self-harm, meets with a therapist. She speaks about the hypocrisy she perceived in her father’s life, the gap between his preachings and his actions.

Scene 7:

INT. CHURCH – NIGHT

Years later. Samuel, Daniel, Rebecca, Nathan and Sarah attend church, not as lost souls, but as active members. They sit in the front pews, their faces filled with serenity and gratitude. Elijah, noticeably older and gentler, observes them from the pulpit, a tear in his eye.

Scene 8:

EXT. PARK – DAY

The five siblings sit together, laughing, sharing stories of their journeys. They are a family again, unified by their shared faith and experience. Rebecca looks at her siblings with newfound love and understanding.

SAMUEL (V.O.): We lost everything trying to escape our father’s shadow. But in losing it all, we found something far more valuable – a relationship with Jesus, and with each other. And that, my brothers and sisters, is a love story worth telling.
