Doctor Who: Frozen Echoes
Scene 1: A derelict spaceship, dimly lit, icy air.
SOUND: Dripping water, distant machinery whirring.
GEN (30s, sharp, determined, but currently unconscious and ice-cold), lies bound to a metallic chair. Her face is pale, her breath barely visible.
The DOCTOR (40s, quirky, energetic) bursts through a damaged bulkhead, his sonic screwdriver whirring. He rushes to Gen.
DOCTOR
Gen! Gen, are you alright?
He touches her hand. His eyes widen in alarm. She’s freezing.
DOCTOR (CONT’D)
Oh, my…
Gen’s eyes flutter open, but she’s clearly weak. She struggles to speak.
GEN (Weakly)
Cold… so… cold…
She collapses in the Doctor’s arms.
DOCTOR
Gen!
He catches her, cradling her close. She faints completely.
Suddenly, RODERICK (40s, ruthless, scarred), appears, gun drawn.
RODERICK
Well, well, well. Look what we have here. The Doctor and his… pet.
Gen gasps, a low, frightened whimper escaping her lips.
GEN
(Screaming)
No!
Roderick fires a shot at the Doctor, who dives for cover. A chaotic fight ensues – lasers, sonic screwdrivers, close-quarters combat – the metallic clang of the ship echoing around them. The Doctor, despite his skill, is clearly struggling against Roderick’s brutality and sheer strength.
Finally, the Doctor manages to disarm Roderick, knocking him to the floor. Roderick, dazed but not defeated, stumbles back to his feet before fleeing the scene.
The Doctor rushes back to Gen, who is shivering uncontrollably. He gently lifts her.
DOCTOR
Gen? We need to get you somewhere warm.
(Scene Change)
Scene 2: A cozy, warm living room. A traditional fireplace crackles merrily.
GEN’s MUM (60s, warm, slightly frazzled), is anxiously pacing. She sees the Doctor carry Gen in.
DOCTOR
She’s going to be alright. Just… severely chilled. I don’t know what they did to her.
Gen’s Mum rushes forward, her eyes filling with tears. She takes Gen gently from the Doctor’s arms.
MUM
My darling girl…
She hugs Gen tightly, her touch warm and reassuring. Gen stirs slightly, a soft moan escaping her lips.
MUM (CONT’D)
(To the Doctor)
Thank you. Thank you so much.
The Doctor watches them, a relieved smile playing on his lips. Gen’s Mum carries her to a comfortable bed, tucking her in with soft blankets. Gen snuggles down, a small sigh escaping her. The warmth begins to work its magic. The scene ends on the comforting image of Gen resting, finally safe in her mother’s care, the Doctor watching over them, subtly fading into the background, ready for whatever adventure awaits.
