Kiana needs to navigate her new surroundings whilst dealing with the Herrscher that is keen on taking over her mind.
The acrid smell of ozone hung heavy in the air, a stark contrast to the vibrant, almost cartoonishly bright cityscape sprawling before Kiana. Gone were the familiar, apocalyptic ruins of Schicksal; replaced by towering skyscrapers that scraped the sky, their surfaces gleaming with impossible angles. People flew past her, propelled by bursts of shimmering energy, their movements fluid and impossible. This wasn’t Honkai-ravaged Earth. This was… different.
The last thing Kiana remembered was the blinding light, the raw power of the Herrscher of the Void surging through her, the crushing weight of its influence… and then, nothing. Now, she stood disoriented, clutching the remains of her once-familiar Key of the Void, now a shattered, inert fragment in her hand. The Herrscher, however, was still there, a cold, insidious presence whispering in the back of her mind, a constant, gnawing pressure.
She’d instinctively grasped the nature of this world: a world of Quirks. The dazzling displays of superhuman abilities were unmistakable. A woman with wings of pure energy soared past, a man manipulated metal with a mere thought, and children played with blasts of controlled fire. This wasn’t a world of Honkai; it was a world of… heroes and villains, it seemed. A world Kiana desperately needed to understand.
Her first instinct was to find somewhere safe, somewhere to assess her situation. She blended into the crowd, a ghost in the vibrant tapestry of this alien society, the Herrscher’s influence subtly warping her perceptions, whispering suggestions of dominance, of unleashing the Void’s power. She fought it, the battle already a familiar, gut-wrenching struggle.
She found refuge in a quiet, unassuming ramen shop, the steam rising from her bowl a small comfort in the face of her overwhelming predicament. While she ate, she observed the news on a flickering screen: “Another Villain apprehended by UA High. Symbol of Peace, All Might, remains ever vigilant.” UA High. The words sparked something in her mind. A school for heroes.
The Herrscher’s voice intensified, urging her to unleash her power, to conquer this new world. But Kiana refused. She wouldn’t let the Void consume her. Not again. She needed to control herself, to understand this world before acting. Perhaps, at UA, she could learn to harness her residual Honkai powers, perhaps even learn to control the Herrscher’s influence – maybe even find a way to banish it entirely.
Leaving the ramen shop, Kiana set her course towards UA High, the towering structure a beacon of hope in the chaotic brilliance of this strange, new reality. Her journey wouldn’t be easy. The Herrscher within her was a constant threat, a tempest in her mind. But Kiana Kaslana, the Valkyrie, was not one to back down from a challenge. Even in a world of Quirks, she would fight for her survival, for her sanity, for her freedom. The battle for her mind, for her future, had just begun.
