The air in the Owl House courtyard crackled with a bizarre mixture of lingering magic and pure, unadulterated schadenfreude. At the center of it all sat Odalia Blight, her usually impeccably tailored suit rumpled, her face a mask of furious disbelief. Her bottom, however, told a far more… expansive story.
It had all started so promisingly. Odalia, having narrowly escaped the Emperor’s Coven collapse with her reputation (and considerable fortune) in tatters, had hatched a cunning plan to regain some semblance of power. She’d devised a trap – a deceptively innocent-looking honey pot laced with a potent sleeping draught, intended to incapacitate the Hexsquad and allow her a swift escape to… well, anywhere that wasn’t the Boiling Isles.
The plan, as most of Odalia’s plans, had gone spectacularly wrong. In her haste, she’d tripped over a loose cobblestone, landing with a resounding thwack directly onto a surprisingly large, magically enhanced bee stinger hidden beneath. The stinger, apparently imbued with a growth charm of alarming potency, had reacted instantly.
Now, Odalia resembled nothing so much as a grotesque, oversized pear. Her posterior had inflated to comical proportions, a shimmering, throbbing beacon of her ill-conceived ambition.
The Hexsquad, along with a subdued Hunter and a surprisingly gleeful Vee, were gathered around her, a mixture of wide-eyed shock and suppressed giggles dancing on their faces.
Luz, ever the optimist, had produced a measuring tape. “Wow, Odalia,” she chirped, “You’ve broken the record for biggest… uh… bottom in the Boiling Isles! We should totally enter this into the annual abomination fair.”
Amity, despite the lingering family awkwardness, couldn’t help but crack a small smile. “I… I never thought I’d see the day,” she whispered to Willow, who was stifling laughter behind a hand.
Edric and Emira, meanwhile, were having the time of their lives. Edric was meticulously drawing a map of the newly acquired real estate on Odalia’s behind, while Emira was attempting (and failing hilariously) to bounce a small abomination on it.
Hunter, still recovering from the Emperor’s reign and the revelation of his own lineage, simply stared, a single tear rolling down his cheek – a tear that was, admittedly, half laughter.
The culmination of Odalia’s humiliation came when Gus, with a mischievous glint in his eye, produced a tiny trampoline. He bounced it on her, and – with a surprisingly satisfying boing – Odalia’s giant butt propelled him several feet in the air.
The laughter erupted then, a joyous cacophony of glee that completely drowned out Odalia’s furious protests. The teens, even usually reserved Hunter and a still-recovering Amity, were taking turns bouncing, jumping, and generally using her as a bizarre, involuntary amusement park ride.
Odalia, her face a mottled purple from a combination of rage and lack of oxygen, was forced to hop around the courtyard, a human bouncy castle, carrying the weight of her own incredibly swollen and thoroughly mocked posterior – and the Hexsquad – on her back. Her carefully constructed persona of ruthless efficiency and power had crumbled, replaced by the utter, hilarious absurdity of her situation. Karma, it seemed, had a particularly cruel and wonderfully comedic sense of humor. And Odalia Blight, the once-feared matriarch, was now the undisputed butt of the joke.
