Over time, a bond will form, a resonance between the pearl’s ancient wisdom and the bearer’s developing understanding. When the bond reaches its apex, the Black Pearl will, of its own accord, attach itself to the forehead, melding with the flesh, transforming a point of skin into a fully formed third eye. This eye is not a grotesque mutation or a fleshy abomination. It is a perfectly replicated eye, the iris shimmering with the same inky blackness of the pearl, a gateway to Nyxos’ profound perception.}suddenly the pearl started to move around and landed on your forehead, it melted into an eye, and you were just shocked, you ran to a bakery and looked through a mirror, you actually looked cute, maybe being 3 eyed wasn’t so bad, but how would people react to it, you walked through alleyways to get back to the ship, and ran into damion, but the kids weren’t with him, you looked up at him and saw some weird symbol near him, it showed him emotions, they were happy at the moment, Damion glanced at your forehead screamed with excitement, then you asked a question that no woman has probably asked, you asked if you could join in the pirate crew, he said you had to take a test, before you could join, you, he took you back to the ship, and took you to his father, he asked if you knew how to cook, you know a lot of things, you make medicine, you cook, you make clothes, sew, and write, you told him all the things your good at he instantly said you could stay, but you wanted to change your clothes so you went to the bathrooms and changed {the outfit:white blouse, black corset, and fitted black pants, tied together with a burgundy sash. The salty air stung my eyes as I watched the flames devour my home. My village, once a vibrant tapestry of laughter and life, was now a charred canvas of destruction. My nineteen-year-old frame, curvy with thighs that had always been a source of both pride and insecurity, felt strangely light as terror propelled me forward. My blonde afro, usually a crown of joyful defiance, was windblown and wild. My glasses, perpetually askew, reflected the horrifying scene.
My brother, Josiah, was gone. Stolen. A brutal image seared itself onto my memory: the glint of a pirate blade, the shudder of his small body. My sister, my mother, my father… all victims of the South Sea Sailors and the Pillagers of the Black Sea. The pirates, greedily snatching the Black Pearl, the legendary treasure that had cursed and blessed our town for centuries.
Three burly pirates dragged me onto their ship, their rough hands leaving bruises on my skin. The stench of salt, sweat, and death filled my nostrils. Three weeks blurred into a nightmarish existence. Confinement, starvation, and the crushing weight of grief consumed me. Then, the captain, a cruel man with eyes that held nothing but lust, found me. The violation was brutal, swift, and repeated. I became nothing more than a vessel, forced to bear the weight of his depravity, day after day.
One day, the ship shuddered violently. A battle raged. I tried to free myself, but my battered body refused to cooperate. Pain consumed me, and I collapsed, unconscious.
I awoke to the gentle rocking of a ship, but it wasn’t the same one. A young man, Damion, stood over me, his black and red hair a striking contrast to the pale canvas of his face. He was the captain’s son from another pirate ship, a ship that had joined the fight against the South Sea Sailors. He had found me, a broken woman in a cage, and rescued me.
Jaxx, a younger man rescued by Damion’s clan, helped me. He bathed my wounds, eased my pain, and made sure I was safe. Damion’s actions, his quiet kindness, were a balm to my ravaged soul. He left a beautiful Victorian-inspired gown and a bag of gold and gems for me. The pain in my legs had subsided, miraculously, the curse of the Black Pearl perhaps having its own subtle workings.
Stepping onto the deck, I saw the town. The sight should have been overwhelmingly painful, but Damion was there. The sight of him, even with four children clinging to him, was comforting. Children that he took in, or that he saved. When the town’s square erupted in dance, the children convinced Damion to ask me to dance. The music swelled, and as we moved together, a strange lightness replaced the crushing weight of my grief.
While picking flowers, I discovered the Black Pearl nestled in the bag Damion had given me. As I examined its inky depths, it pulsed with a strange energy, latching onto my forehead, transforming into a third eye. It was shocking, and yet, I felt strangely… empowered. The rumors about the pearl proved true. The third eye provided Nyxos profound perception.
Returning to the ship, I encountered Damion. He gasped at my new eye, his joy overflowing. This, however, was not the end of the story.
I asked to join his crew, a question that surprised even me. Damion, after a trial where I proved my versatility – my skill in medicine, cooking, sewing, and even writing – accepted me.
Back on the ship, I donned a practical swashbuckler outfit: white blouse, black corset, fitted black pants, and high boots. I set about preparing a feast for the crew, my actions fueled by a surprising new strength. The crew, initially uncertain, became captivated by my culinary skills and my warmth. The kids were always asking about my eye. The warmth from the crew changed my perspective.
In the chaos of the sea and the company of a kind and surprisingly handsome man, and a crew of people who I started to call my family, I found something unexpected: the possibility of a future, a future I could choose, not one dictated by tragedy. My love for Damion blossomed slowly, rooted in shared trauma, mutual respect, and an unexpected, almost magical, connection forged in the heart of a pirate adventure. And amidst the seafaring life, surrounded by the warmth of my newfound family, I was slowly learning to live again, to love again, and to embrace the unpredictable path that life, or perhaps the Black Pearl, had laid before me.
