Momo had brought Gavin, Terra, and Tyler to the future where she was from to help defeat the evil Queen Ivy who had taken over both Mewni and Earth. While there the group met the grownup future versions of their friend’s Dani and Junior. Dani and Junior were part of a resistance group to take down Queen Ivy and Momo’s legal guardians after her parents died. While Tyler, Gavin, and Terra conversed with their future friends, Momo had snuck off. Realizing she was gone the three went off to find her. “Momo!” The trio shouted before running and hugging her. “Please don’t run off like that again! You had me-US..! You has US worried sick!” Terra scolded, trying to cover up her concern. “Why did you run off like that? You know you’re our ‘future-guide’. We’d be totally lost with out you.” Tyler asked. “I wanted to visit my parents.” Momo said not looking up. They finally noticed where Momo was sitting. She was sitting on two makeshift graves with spray painted headstones. Gavin decided to take a closer look. And was shocked to see what they read. “Guys!” He shouted in disbelief. Terra and Tyler decided to also take a closer look. “Here lies Queen Terra and King Gavin Butterfly of the kingdom of Mewni?!” Tyler read aloud. “Wait, we’re Gavin and Terra!” Terra yelled in surprise. Everyone went silent for a moment. “Momo you said these are your parents graves, right?” Tyler asked. “Yes.” She said. “Then that means…” Gavin and Terra turned to each other and blushed. “My name is Princess Momoka Maaraw Butterfly and I am your future daughter.” Momo said curtsying with a mischievous grin on her face. “WHAT?!” Terra and Gavin shouted in unison. Their faces were so hot they felt like they were going to explode.
The air shimmered, and a blinding flash of light deposited them in a world both familiar and drastically different. Gone were the whimsical charm of Mewni and the bustling energy of Earth. Instead, they stood in a desolate wasteland, the sky a perpetual gray, buildings crumbling, and the air thick with a heavy silence. This was Momo’s future, a future under the tyrannical reign of Queen Ivy.
“Okay, so,” Terra started, her voice shaky, “where are we?”
“This is my home,” Momo said, her voice barely a whisper, her eyes filled with a sadness that mirrored the bleak landscape. “Queen Ivy took over both Mewni and Earth, leaving nothing but this.”
They were met by a group of resistance fighters, their faces grim and determined. Among them, two stood out: a taller, more confident Dani, with a glint of steel in her eyes, and a Junior, taller and broader, with a quiet strength that radiated from him. They were the grown-up versions of their friends, hardened by the years of fighting for their freedom.
As Tyler, Gavin, and Terra chatted with their future counterparts, Momo slipped away, unnoticed. The three friends soon realized she was gone and rushed to find her. They found her huddled by two makeshift graves, her shoulders shaking with silent sobs.
“Momo!” They cried out, their hearts sinking at the sight.
“Please don’t run off like that again!” Terra scolded, masking her worry.
“Why did you run off? You’re our guide!” Tyler added, his voice laced with concern.
Momo looked up, her eyes red-rimmed. “I just wanted to see them,” she whispered, gesturing to the graves.
The three friends noticed the spray-painted headstones and Gavin leaned closer. His eyes widened in shock. “Guys!” he exclaimed.
Terra and Tyler hurried closer. “Here lies Queen Terra and King Gavin Butterfly of the kingdom of Mewni?!” Tyler read aloud, his voice trembling.
“Wait, we’re Gavin and Terra?” Terra echoed, her mind reeling.
Silence fell over them, heavy and suffocating.
“Momo, you said these are your parents’ graves, right?” Tyler asked, his voice barely audible.
“Yes,” she said softly.
“Then that means…” Gavin and Terra exchanged a look, their cheeks burning crimson.
“My name is Princess Momoka Maaraw Butterfly, and I am your future daughter,” Momo announced, curtseying with a mischievous grin.
The revelation hung in the air, heavy and impossible.
“WHAT?!” Gavin and Terra screamed in unison, their faces turning the color of ripe tomatoes.
Their future had become a tangled mess of love, loss, and a fight for freedom. And at the heart of it all stood Momo, a young queen fighting for a future that held a bittersweet promise of a love they hadn’t known they shared, and a legacy they had yet to build.
