What does an AI Picture Book Generator create?
A picture book combines a story, a sequence of illustrations and a page layout. Story321 brings those parts into one editable project, from the first text storyboard to the cover and finished pages.
A story you can shape
Keep the characters, themes and details that matter to you. Use the storyboard to adjust the beginning, the adventure and the ending before making the pictures.
A book you can revisit
Return to your saved draft to refine the words and illustrations. Finish it at your own pace, then read it on screen or keep a PDF copy.
A small idea is enough to begin
Give your story a hero, a challenge and a feeling to end on. Use these story ideas to plan your own sequence of pages.
A bedtime adventure
Story idea: A little fox is afraid of the dark. A firefly helps her discover the quiet wonders of the forest. End with her feeling ready for bed. Possible story beats: 1. Fox notices a light beyond her window. 2. A firefly leads her past the moonlit pond. 3. Fox returns home with a new way to see the night.
A familiar name, a new adventure
Story idea: Maya and her toy dinosaur build a cardboard rocket. Their mission is to return a lost star to the sky. Keep the story playful and gentle. Possible story beats: 1. Maya finds a star beside the toy box. 2. The cardboard rocket travels past friendly planets. 3. The star finds its place, and Maya heads home.
A story worth sharing
Story idea: Two very different animals want the same patch of garden. Let them discover that growing something together is more fun than guarding it alone. Possible story beats: 1. Rabbit and Turtle each claim the garden. 2. Their separate plans run into trouble. 3. They combine their ideas and share the harvest.
Control the details that make it your book
Start with your idea or your own words
Describe a character, a setting and a small adventure, or paste a story you have already written. Review the text storyboard before choosing which illustrations to generate.
Give recurring characters a reference
Create and confirm up to 3 character references, then select the characters appearing in each scene. Reusing references helps guide their appearance; review every illustration for changes.
Choose the look of your story
Explore Watercolor, Flat illustration, Colored pencil. Keep an art direction across the book while writing a different scene description for each page and the cover.
Edit the page that needs attention
Rewrite a sentence, change an illustration brief, choose another image candidate, or generate a replacement. You decide what to keep as the story takes shape.
Arrange pictures and readable text
Choose an image-above-text layout or place text along the bottom. Add, reorder or remove pages, and preview the book before sharing it.
Keep drafts private until you share
New illustrations are private. When your book is ready, publish a separate Creator version, choose public or unlisted visibility, or download a PDF to keep.
How to use the AI Picture Book Generator
Choose your story’s starting point
Start with an idea or paste your story. Choose a reader age, language and initial page count to guide the text draft.
Review the storyboard
Read the storyboard. Edit the words, page order and scene descriptions so each page moves the story forward.
Set the style and characters
Choose an illustration style. Generate and confirm references for recurring characters, then assign them to the scenes where they appear.
Illustrate and refine each page
Create illustrations for individual pages and the cover. Check the pictures against the text, keep the candidates you like and replace any that need work.
Read, download or share your book
Preview the finished book. Read online, download a PDF, or publish a Creator version to share.
Choose the workflow that fits your story
A text draft, a single picture and a finished book solve different tasks. The AI Picture Book Generator connects the story, illustrations and page layout in one project.

Before you start your picture book
Can I use a story I have already written?
Yes. Start from an idea or paste an existing story. Story321’s AI Picture Book Generator turns your input into a text storyboard you can review and edit before generating illustrations. You can also start with a blank book and build the pages yourself.
Which ages and page counts can I choose?
The reader-age settings are 3–5 / 6–8 years. Start an AI story draft with 8 / 12 / 16 story pages. Drafts can contain 0–16 pages; a book needs 8–16 completed story pages for export or publication. The cover is additional.
Which illustration styles are available?
Choose from Watercolor, Flat illustration, Colored pencil. Your chosen style guides the illustrations, while each page has its own scene description and character selection.
Will my characters look the same on every page?
Confirmed character references are reused for the scenes you assign them to, helping guide a recurring appearance. AI results can vary. Check the face, clothing and other details on each page, and replace an illustration if it does not fit.
Can I change the text and pictures?
Yes. Edit the story text, illustration descriptions, character selections and page layouts. You can generate a new image for one page or the cover without replacing the whole book. Review changed pages before exporting or publishing.
Is the AI Picture Book Generator free?
Creating and editing drafts is free. AI story and image generation use credits, with the cost shown before you generate. Reading, publishing and PDF export are free. Review the displayed cost before requesting another story, character reference or illustration.
Can I download or print my picture book?
You can export a completed book as a square, image-based PDF for reading and personal printing. The PDF has no bleed or crop marks; professional printing and publishing platforms may require additional file preparation.
Are my drafts and illustrations public?
New illustrations are private. Publishing creates a separate Creator version with public or unlisted visibility. An unlisted book can be read by someone with its link. You can withdraw that version when you no longer want to share it.
